Function:

A reference to the 8 Jungian functions (Te, Fe, Se, Ne, Ti, Fi, Si, Ni) for more information about these click here.

Dichotomy

A reference to one of the four dichotomies: Extraversion/Introversion, Sensing/Intuition, Thinking/Feeling, Judging/Perceiving

Dom (dominant):

A reference to a person’s leading function. This will influence a person’s outlook on life and will be the over arching theme of their personality. It will be the most used and heavily relied upon and is at the top of their function stack.

Aux (auxiliary):

A reference to a person’s secondary function. This function supports the dominant function.

Tert (tertiary):

A reference to a person’s third function. The third function has limited use, but one can exercise it in a non-critical way to gain more positive use of it. It will usually be harder to identify than the dom or aux.

Inferior:

A reference to a person’s fourth function. It can be viewed as a person’s weakness. It can be used positively in short spurts in non-critical scenarios, but is still prone to be very weak.

Loop:

A scenario in which a person skips over their auxiliary function and leans heavily on their tertiary function, resulting in an unhealthy, unbalanced personality.

In The Grip:

A state that develops from attempting to suppress your inferior function. After a while, your dominant function will be overwhelmed. At this point, the inferior function takes over and the person spirals into a state of panic and paranoia. This is the result of using the inferior function in the dominant’s stead.
